Matthew turned 5 on April 11th. Because it was the day before Easter, we had
his party the following weekend. It was a blast!! A few weeks earlier, Matthew chose a dinosaur theme and made out his guest list.On the day of the party, the kids were each given a pith hat instead of a party hat, and I then took their picture. Quickly, Doug uploaded the images and printed each "Paleontologist in Training" a photo ID badge that hung on a lanyard around their necks! Then, the kids painted plaster dinosaurs (thanks for that one, Mom!). They got to dig in a bucket of ice to find little plastic dinos frozen in little blocks of ice, then thaw them out as fast as they could! Next the paleontologists dug in the sandbox for dinosaur skeletons (I found great ones at the 99Cent Store!). Then they had a relay race to save the eggs out of a Pterodactyl's nest. Just before lunch, they played DINO (like BINGO). For lunch I found dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets at Sam's Club! Red Kool-Aid was "bug juice"!
After all the presents had been opened, the guests went home, and Matthew went outside to play in the ice and sand! It was a wonderful party!
