IRELAND

Over Spring Break the kids and I studied Ireland. Just like last summer, we learned about the history, geography, climate, art, and food of this wonderfully unique country. And since St. Patrick's Day fell during our Spring Break, the timing was perfect! Here are some pictures of us at the St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Houston.

RODEO HOUSTON

March is rodeo time in Houston! The calf ropin' and bull ridin' happen in the evening--which is still too late for our youngens, but there are plenty of other daytime things to keep us busy. The weather was beautiful today, so we dusted off our boots and headed out.

We rode MetroRail to Reliant Center, and I must tell my fellow Houstonians that this is probably the best way to go. And Matthew thought it was the coolest thing ever!

At the rodeo we visited the petting zoo, saw longhorns and pigs, sat on tractors, played at the carnival, rode sheep (well, Matthew did), and ate our fill of everything fried!

GOOOOAAAAALLL!!!

Claire is playing soccer this spring at the YMCA. She loves it! Her favorite position is forward (that's where the immediate action is!). They have played two games already, with 6 more to come! Their first game was a tie, 0-0, and the second they won 6-0! Go Eagles!
